Our client, a leading contract research company, is currently seeking an accomplished Accountant to join the team. Here is an overview of the role:
1) Review timesheet posting, labor distribution and payroll submission
2) Be responsible for maintaining corporate payroll records
3) Register all tax-related for a new state, as needed
4) Prepare payroll and reports for federal, state and local agencies, when required
5) Ensure payroll and tax documents are accurate
6) Provide payment and filing of FICA, federal, and state taxes biweekly and monthly
7) Fill monthly, quarterly and yearly payroll tax returns in manual and electronic format
8) Transfer 401(k) and other benefit information electronically to the benefit administrator
9) Create financial management reports relating to payroll and labor distributions
10) Prepare annual W-2 wage statements and federal and state filings
11) Reconcile 941s and other balance sheet accounts, as needed
12) Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
13) Prepare annual audit schedules
Critical Requirements
1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field
2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)
3) Recent experience in the contract research industry is strongly preferred
4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in accounting
