**Description**
**JOB DESCRIPTION:**
Assists floral designers with conditioning, transport, installation, maintenance, removal, disposal, storage, and inventory of all floral materials, property, and arrangements required for day-to-day, annual, and seasonal events across the Foundation.
Assists designers with prep work for arrangements/conditioning; prepares some basic floral arrangements.
Prepares completed arrangements for delivery; delivers, helps to install, and maintains arrangements.
Monitors arrangements/installations advising staff of needed reinstallations and maintenance.
Responsible for transport, protection, and return of all items borrowed for special events and/or seasonal displays.
Assists with seasonal installations involving carpenters, electricians, and temporary staffing assistants as needed.
Responsible for the control of all inventory belonging to the floral studio, including props and flowers; responsible for the careful storage and transport of custom made containers; tracks location of props so that they are easily accessible to the department.
Responsible for sweeping, general cleaning, and overall neatness of floral studio and floral cooler.
Responsible for routine maintenance of delivery van including checking gas and oil regularly.
Assist design studio with projects as need arises.
Other work-related duties as assigned.
**JOB REQUIREMENTS:**
**Final candidates are to present in person to the Colonial Williamsburg Hospitality Human Resource Office (located inside the Mail Center, 359 North Botetourt Street, Williamsburg, VA 23185) a valid driver's license and motor vehicle report (MVR)****. New residents must obtain a Virginia drivers license within 30 days.**
High school diploma/GED;
Ability to drive a panel van;
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects under deadline with limited direction.
Preferred: 3-6 months experience with a floral, nursery, or landscaping operation; interest/knowledge of floral and plant materials; Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects under deadline and with limited supervision
Ability to: (1) maintain an inventory system; (2) bend, stoop, walk and transport up to 50 lbs.; (3) adapt to changing priorities; (4) communicate effectively orally and in writing; (5) work effectively with a wide variety of people; (6) and willingness to work in all weather conditions; (7) establish a well ordered work routine/schedule that ensures completion of tasks
